CNP was proud to welcome General James Clapper for an off the record discussion of many of the key issues facing the defense and intelligence communities at this time of heightened threat to our nation. General Clapper serves as both the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence at the Pentagon and the Director of Defense Intelligence in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, giving him keen insights into issues like the need to balance winning today's wars while maintaining the readiness levels required to face future threats. Clapper also spoke about the significance of the intelligence community's most recent threat assessment, presented to Congress in the past few weeks, and some of the broader implications of the current economic crises viewed through the lens of the intelligence community.
