RESILIENCE AND SECURITY EXPERT DR. STEPHEN FLYNN TO ADDRESS USM KATRINA RESEARCH CONFERENCE

Flynn to give keynote speech on resilience and preparedness issues

Dr. Stephen Flynn, President of the Center for National Policy and one of the country's top resilience, security  and preparedness experts, will give a keynote address at the University of Southern Mississippi, Gulf Park campus's "Returning to Katrina: Bringing Hurricane Katrina Research Back to the Community" conference on June 4. Dr. Flynn will discuss the vital importance of disaster preparedness and community resilience both in light of lessons learned from Katrina and the ongoing oil spill disaster, the role that citizens can and must play in preparedness and security issues, and implications of the White House including resilience as a priority in its newly released National Security Strategy.
