Washington, DC - CNP President Tim Roemer
released the following statement today
regarding Leon Panetta, Chairman of CNP's
National Board of Advisors and past Chairman of
CNP's Board of Directors, being nominated to be
the next Director of the Central Intelligence
Agency:
"On behalf of the Center for National Policy, I
would like to extend my heartfelt
congratulations to Leon Panetta for his
nomination to be the next Director of the
Central Intelligence Agency. As has been the
case throughout his very impressive career,
Leon's tenure as chairman of CNP's Board of
Directors was marked by his deep knowledge of a
wide range of public policy issues and his
dedication to finding workable solutions to the
most difficult challenges facing this
country--and doing so in a bipartisan way.
These traits, in addition to his effective
management style and grasp of the budget
process, would serve both the CIA and the
country well, and we wish him the very best as
the nomination process moves forward."
